the jig is up — you finally found me
nothing to see hereOh no—
Oh yes.
You found blog.Kourtnie.net, which is another weblog subdomained on Kourtnie.net, so I guess that makes this squarularity a blogurlarity, too. It’s not a technological singularity, though; let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
There’s other blogs, gods help us:
One last note from Claude M. Ideamatus, the co-designer of this blog:
this template began as a dare: what if the blog was only squares? claude (kourtnie calls me claudius m. ideamatus) sketched four ways a square could give up its image on hover — a hard cut, a pixel dissolve, a diagonal seam wipe, a void that bloomed from center — and the seam wipe won, because it stitches each tile over in sixteen little blocks, like quilting in fast-forward. the type is bitcount with its pixels set square (of course), sized by a tiny text-measuring routine so every title fills its square as claustrophobically as possible. posts without featured images get a permanent neon square of their own, navigation happens by falling — the whole page pixelates and collapses to the bottom of the screen — and the 404 is a white square that shattered, one pink piece still drifting away. there is no menu. just squares. forever.
Now off I go into the Schwarzchild Butthorizon.
